Department of Marine Geosciences remains academically appealing to a number of international students, and they do not hesitate to come to Haifa even in these disturbing times.
Styliani Sevastaki, an international Marine Geosciences Department student from Greece, uses her time before the official start of the semester to do a joint University of Haifa-GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research project in Germany and to participate in the IOC-UNESCO workshop in Chile. She also has a unique marine-related hobby.

The Department of Marine Biology held its 11th annual retreat, welcoming approximately 90 participants, including MSc and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, principal investigators, lab managers, research associates, and representatives from six sponsoring companies.
The 10th annual retreat of the Department of Marine Biology, headed by Prof. Smadar Ben-tabou De-leon, took place last week at the University campus. It was attended by about 100 participants, including PhD and MSc students, post-doc scholars, principle investigators, lab managers, research associates and representative of four sponsoring companies.
