Marine Geosciences Students Shine at Israel Geological Society Conference: Sharing Research and Building Skills

Proud of our Marine Geosciences students who rocked the Israel Geological Society conference! Dr. Guy Lang, Mfoniso Otu, Svetlana Lintser, and Aleksei Nelaev presented their research and impressed everyone. Students from different universities were chosen to participate in a full week of lectures, lab analysis, snorkeling, diving and sailing on the institute research vessel all devoted to study the history of oceans. This year, six of our Israeli and international students participated in this highly intensive, but exciting course.

When Fun and Science Intersect! An Immersive Paleoceanography Course at IUI-Eilat

The "Paleoceanography" course at IUI-Eilat ended last week. The course is headed by Prof. Revital Bookman from the Department of Marine Geosciences in collaboration with the IUI researchers. Students from different universities were chosen to participate in a full week of lectures, lab analysis, snorkeling, diving and sailing on the institute research vessel all devoted to study the history of oceans. This year, six of our Israeli and international students participated in this highly intensive, but exciting course.

University of Haifa Attains 28th Rank Globally in ‘Life Below Water’ Index of Times Higher Education Impact Rankings

According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which examines the academic ranking of universities in social and environmental sustainability indices, set by the UN and published last week, Haifa University was ranked 28th in the target of 14 " life below water" out of about 500 universities in the world.
