Highlights from the 12th Annual Retreat of the Department of Marine Biology
The Department of Marine Biology, led by Department head Prof. Smadar Ben-Tabou de-Leon, held its 12th annual retreat.
Nearly 90 students, researchers, lab managers, postdoctoral fellows, and industry partners gathered for an inspiring day dedicated to science, collaborative learning, and community building.
The department was honored to open the retreat with inspiring remarks by Prof. Zvi Ben-Avraham, Israel Prize laureate and founder of the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences.
Throughout the day, students and researchers presented their latest findings through engaging talks and a bustling poster session. The presentations beautifully reflected the wide-ranging and diverse research taking place across the department- spanning from molecular and developmental biology and genomics to microbiology, marine ecology, and conservation.
