Today, we celebrate the incredible achievements of women in marine sciences around the world. Here at the School of Marine Sciences, we’re proud to mark this important day and reaffirm our commitment to promoting gender equality in science.

We’re encouraged by the progress we’ve made:

• 44% of our academic staff are women.
• 44% of our administrative staff, including lab managers and divers, are women.
• 42% of our students are women.

However, we recognize that there’s still room for improvement. We remain dedicated to encouraging women from all backgrounds to pursue careers in marine science and unleash their full potential.
