It was our pleasure to host representatives of the IMOD DDR&D (Mafaat) and of the US Navy (NIWC Pacific) to demonstrate new technologies developed in the SubSEA lab, headed by Prof. Morel Groper and the VISEAON Marine Imaging lab, headed by Prof. Tali Treibitz. PhD candidate Yevgeni Gutnik with the assistance of lab engineer Nir Zagdanski demonstrated the fusion of a forward-looking camera and forward-looking sonar and a novel concept of magnetic navigation based on an artificial magnetic field. Alice, our autonomous underwater vehicle, was delighted with all the attention she received.
