Congratulations to Prof. Ilana Berman-Frank on receiving a prestigious grant for marine research centers

Congratulations to Prof. Ilana Berman-Frank on receiving a prestigious grant from the Planning and Budgeting Committee (PBC) for marine research centers!

The research team is led by Professors Berman-Frank, Yizhaq Makovsky and Barak Herut, together with Prof. Roee Diamant and Dr. Yoav Lehahn from the Charney School, as well as a large multidisciplinary team from leading research institutions in Israel.

The research will focus on DEVELOPMENT AND NETWORKING OF ADVANCED MARINE RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES helping to bridge knowledge gaps in our understanding of long term IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON THE SOUTH EASTERN LEVANTINE BASIN.
This is essential knowledge that will serve as a basis for sustainable management of our marine environment and addressing future challenges.

The project highlights the importance of wide scale collaborations among the Israeli science community, the position of the School of Marine Sciences and the University of Haifa at the forefront of marine research in Israel, and strengthens our central role in safeguarding the future of the Mediterranean Sea.

Proud of Prof. Berman Frank, and all partners in this important research.
