Yakov Miron
PhD, Marine Technologies Department
“I currently conduct research in autonomous vehicles at Bosch Research in Germany, while also serving as a research fellow at the University of Haifa, with the goal of strengthening the connection between academia and industry. My work focuses on developing algorithms for autonomous driving, including sensor development, modeling, simulations, and conducting real-world road tests. During my studies in the Department of Maritime Technologies, I gained in-depth knowledge of advanced research methods, particularly in the field of sim2real – training agents in simulation so they can successfully operate in the real world. My studies were both enriching and challenging, combining theoretical work with hands-on laboratory application. They greatly contributed to developing my professional skills, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and research team management.”
