“Currently, I serve as the CEO of DataValley, a startup company aiming to reduce risks and enhance productivity in land-based aquaculture. We achieve this by collecting real-time data, building a unique database, and employing AI-powered predictive models. In an ever-changing world, the adaptability of aquaculture heavily relies on technological innovation and tools to mitigate or share increasing risks. This forms the core of our company’s mission. With a team of 5 pre-funding employees, DataValley operates in the domestic fish market and is embarking on international expansion.
My studies at the School of Marine Sciences have profoundly shaped me, both as a marine biologist and a decision-maker. The school and my mentor instilled in me the ability to integrate diverse fields into a unified picture, analyze it, and draw forward-looking conclusions. I learned to question, investigate systems thoroughly before jumping to conclusions, and value the diverse expertise individuals bring to the table. “Multidisciplinarity” means giving each person a platform to shine while collectively aligning towards a shared goal and understanding the direction we’re headed.
The incredible team at the School’s research station in Sdot Yam imparted upon me the entrepreneurial and managerial mindset – to pursue goals with determination and foresight, identify obstacles, find solutions, and achieve objectives. Above all, they instilled a sense of family. Returning there feels like coming home, with a big smile on my face and an even bigger one in my heart. I am truly fortunate to have been part of this family, and its members continue to guide me in every significant action or decision.”
