Prof. Michael Lazar is a lecturer in marine geosciences, co-founder of the Leon Charney School of Marine Sciences and co-founder of the Moses Strauss Department of Marine Geosciences. He obtained his PhD in Geophysics from Tel Aviv University in 2004 on active tectonics of the Dead Sea. He is an expert in marine geology and geophysics.
In addition to his academic career, Michael is also a professional, world-renowned artist, with over 20 years experience as a sculptor, photographer, performer and sound artist. His work is exhibited worldwide and can be found in many important private collections. He is often invited to lecture on the boundary between art and science.
