Exploring the Wonders of the Dead Sea: A Field Trip to Remember

Our recent field trip to the Dead Sea was an extraordinary journey into one of the world’s most fascinating landscapes!

Students from the Department of Marine Geosciences and the Maritime Strategy Program had the opportunity to explore the unique geology of this remarkable region. From the breathtaking salt formations to the intricate geological layers, participants uncovered the dynamic forces that have shaped this natural wonder over time.

Guided by experts, the students gained hands-on experience as they delved into the secrets beneath the surface. This enriching excursion was part of the course “Dead Sea as an Analogue for the Deep Sea,” led by Prof. Nicolas Waldmann, providing valuable insights into geological processes that influence both the Dead Sea and the deep sea environments.

This unforgettable trip combined education and exploration, leaving participants inspired and eager for more.
