Prof. Nicolas Waldmann is a geologist with a background in sedimentology and seismic stratigraphy analysis. He received his BSc and MSc from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his PhD from the University of Geneva (Switzerland). He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Bergen (Norway). His major research interests focus on marine geology and limnogeology with applications to paleoclimate and paleotectonism, while deciphering processes occurring in both marine and lacustrine basins. Dr. Waldmann is particularly interested in deciphering the climate signatures imprinted in the sedimentary record through the amalgamation of physical, chemical and biological proxies. Moreover, he contributes to studies related to sedimentary architecture of basins, source-to-sink processes, basins environments and petroleum resources. He further serves as the Israel National Correspondent of the International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS) and as a member of the International Association of Limnogeologists (IAL) board.
