מייקל לזר (PhD) הוא פרופסור חבר ומהמייסדים של החוג למדעים גיאו-ימיים ע"ש משה שטראוס, בית הספר למדעי הים ע"ש ליאון צ'רני, אוניברסיטת חיפה. את תואר הדוקטור קיבל בשנת 2004 מהחוג לגיאופיזיקה ומדעים פלנטריים באוניברסיטת תל אביב.
מחקריו עוסקים בשיקוף תת קרקעי רדוד על מנת לאתר, לנתח ולפענח את ההשפעות ההדדיות של טקטוניקה וגיאולוגיה על הסביבה ועל אוכלוסיות אנושיות בהולוקן ועד ימינו. הוא גם אמן רב-תחומי בעל שם ומומחה לשילוב בין אמנות ומדע.
