לאיציק קליין תואר ראשון ושני בהנדסת אווירונאוטיקה וחלל מהטכניון - מכון טכנולוגי לישראל, חיפה, בשנת 2004 ו-2007, בהתאמה, ותואר שלישי בהנדסת גיאו-אינפורמציה מהטכניון בשנת 2011. הוא פרופסור חבר העומד בראש מעבדת הניווט האוטונומי והיתוך חיישנים (ANSFL) וראש החוג לטכנולוגיות ימיות על שם האטר בבית הספר למדעי הים ע"ש צ'רני, אוניברסיטת חיפה. לפני שהצטרף לאוניברסיטת חיפה, עבד בחברות מובילות בישראל בנושאי ניווט במשך יותר מ-15 שנה. יש לו ניסיון רחב במערכות ניווט והיתוך חיישנים הן מנקודת מבט תעשייתית והן מנקודת מבט אקדמית. תחומי המחקר שלו נמצאים בצומת שבין בינה מלאכותית לחישה אינרציאלית, היתוך חיישנים ורובוטיקה.
