This week, we had the honor of celebrating the appointment of Prof. Zvi Ben-Avraham<\/strong>\u00a0as\u00a0Founding Governor<\/em>\u00a0of the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences.<\/p>

Prof. Ben-Avraham – Israel Prize laureate, member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and pioneering scientist \u2013 founded the school and led it through its first decade, shaping it into a leading institution in marine science.
His vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication have inspired generations of researchers and helped define the future of marine science in Israel.<\/p>

The ceremony featured heartfelt remarks by:
Prof. Gur Alroey\u00a0\u2013 President of the University of Haifa
Prof. Oren Gazal-Ayal\u00a0\u2013 Vice President for Research & Development
Prof. Dan Tchernov\u00a0\u2013 Head of the Charney School
Prof. Yossi Ben-Artzi\u00a0\u2013 University Rector during the school’s establishment<\/p>

It was a moving tribute to a scientist whose contributions continue to resonate across the academic and marine research communities.<\/p>
