Prof. Revital Bookman is a geologist with expertise in sedimentology, dating methodologies and environmental pollution.
She received her BSc and PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Revital also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Syracuse University (New York) and Hebrew University (Geography Department) after receiving excellence scholarships.
Her major interests focus on recent and past marine and lacustrine environments and modern anthropogenic processes.
Dr. Bookman is interested in interpreting Late Quaternary climate signatures imprinted in the sedimentary record through the integration of physical, geochemical and biological proxies and tracers. Moreover, she contributes to studies related to sediment mass transport processes as turbidities and landslides in the deep sea. Revital further serves as the departmental head of the PhD studies and is involved in outreach activities aimed in educating a new generation of scientists.
