Six days collective course in which the students will experience collecting geologic and geophysical data at the sea. The course will function as a workshop of data acquiring for some other courses in the study program. The collecting and analyzing data will include: sampling of chemical and physical properties of water column, continues profiles of temperatures, salinity and chlorophyll using under-water equipment, dissolved oxygen, pH, nutrients, and chlorophyll and carbonate system of water samples along the depth section; Geology- Bottom sediment sample by grab and core; Geophysics – seismic reflection data collecting, side scan sonar, multi-beam, sparker or chirp, magnetics; Morphology – Collecting sea-depth's data . A guidance of operating the sampling equipment will be given during the cruise. The consideration beyond locating an oceanographic station and planning geology sampling and geophysical survey will be considered; n addition, a guidance of basic data processing and diagrams, maps and sections forming will be given too. This course is design for all the students of marine sciences school at Haifa University. The course will be available to other master or doctoral students from other institution on the basis of unoccupied space.
