Research Interests

My research is in the field of Quaternary and Environmental Geology with interests in marine and lacustrine sedimentology, paleoceanography and paleoclimate, and sediment mass transport processes connected to geo-hazards. My students and I study processes across a broad range of spatial and temporal scales using an integrated source-to-sink approach. We analyze grain size, geochemical composition, and physical properties of sediments. We also study anthropogenic disturbance and pollution with implications for improving environmental management.
